I just had my first Prost Pils, and I absolutely loved it! Okay, you hear that all the time, but it’s really weird coming from me. Y’see, I’m strictly an IPA loving (the “doubler” the better) insufferable beer snob, and an Ale Man to boot. I’ve been to Germany, and enjoyed the so-called perfect German Pilsner, at the perfect temperature, the perfect glass, the perfect beer garden, you get the idea. and although those were memorable experiences…. this was somehow better. Really.
This is easily one of my favorite breweries in Denver. The staff is super knowledgeable and the beer is awesome. PLUS they have board games to play. LOVE!
Not sure where to start to give kudos for the bier. We went for it with a flight of everything on the menu and all of it delivered! The 3 of us each found our new favorite brew. The Helles, the Weiss, the Dunkel, the Marzen, the Altbier, etc. Just go!
I am not normally a fan of lagers, much less Pilsner style beers, but I found the Prost Pils to be a highly drinkable beer. This is far beyond the pale, fizzy, yellow stuff normally found in this style. Big, bold flavor, great mouthfeel, nicely balanced with an opening spice note followed by a very pleasant malt base flavor.
One of the challenges I face is to educate people who are not very sophisticated about the beer they drink. I normally use styles such as Kolsch or Altbier, and Prost offers some excellent examples of both. Now I can also recommend the Pilsner for people who are learning more about beer. Prost Pils is what a Pilsener style beer should taste like. It’s a marvelously refreshing session beer, which I highly recommend as a great beverage for a hot day. Or even a cool one.
Having moved here from Bavaria I despaired of ever finding a beer that made me feel I was back in the neighborhood BierGarten, but your Pilsner is absolutely true to the traditions of that name. Please pass on my highest complements to your brewers and materials purchasers. I look forward to trying your other products
